How does getting money back for your spends sound? Pretty great right.
But how does being able to receive your cashback in the form of REAL money which you can withdraw via bank transfer sound?
Cue ShopBack GO.
Thanks to ShopBack GO, you won’t have to cut back on luxury expenses, like dining out. So instead of spending all your money for a fancy dinner out, you can actually get some back!
That’s what ShopBack GO can do for you – it puts a stop on your money-related worries, so you can get outside more, connect with other people and enjoy life.
ShopBack Go is a cashback dining app, partnered with 600+ restaurants like Famous Amos, Canton Paradise, Beauty In The Pot and Maki-San.
The more meals you enjoy at these restaurants, the more points, miles and cashback you earn. These rewards translate into discounts and money back. All these on top of all the points, miles and cashbacks that you earn from your credit card!
Talk about getting double the rewards.
The inner kiasu Singaporean in you is probably screaming “SIGN ME UP!”. So here’s how.
ShopBack GO is one of the easiest apps to use. All you have to do is:
Visit Google Play or your App store and you can easily download ShopBack from there. Once that’s done, select the ‘ShopBack GO’ tab and you’ll have an exhaustive list of dining options to choose from!
Before you start to go bollocks over the variety of dining options to choose from, you’ll have to first either link your credit or debit card to ShopBack.
You’ll need either a Visa or a Mastercard, but the good news is you can link multiple cards to your account.
Another advantage is that you’ll only need to add this credit card once. You can add a maximum of 10 cards, and you will still be eligible for your cash back.
When you’re dining out, all you have to do is pay with these cards to enjoy the cashback feature.
Diners note: You’ll need a credit/ debit card issued in Singapore.
ShopBack Go has 600+ collaborators, so browsing the entire list of dining merchants can be mentally draining.
If browsing the list sounds too complicated, ShopBack has a solution. You can allow the app access to your location, so it can recommend you good restaurants around your area.
When your palate is satisfied and your belly full, remember to pay your bill with the card or cards linked to the app. You won’t be prompted for any QR codes, and the entire payment process is straight-forward, without additional steps.
You can use either PayWave or various other payment apps like Apple, Samsung or Google Pay, whichever feels more comfortable.
You won’t receive your cashback the instant you pay your check. However, your cashback earned should be reflected in your ShopBack account within a matter of seconds following the transaction.
Another thing to note is that the cashback you earn is based on the final spend, before GST and service charge.
Diners note: You can’t withdraw the amount instantly. You’ll need at least $10 in your account before you can withdraw it either to your PayPal or bank account. The funds will take between 7 – 14 days for it to be credited into your account.
Ever stumble upon a great deal only to realise it’s only valid from Mondays to Fridays, during lunch from 12-1pm, with a minimum of four diners, and a minimum spend of like who knows $9999. Yeah, you get what we mean.
Those restrictions can be insanely frustrating. Like c’mon, just let me have my food already.
Instead, ShopBack doesn’t have any restrictions. You can eat your meals as usual, with whomever and whenever you want to. All you need is to activate the restaurant’s cashback option before paying your bill.
If all this and you’re not sold yet, here are some of the top advantages of using ShopBack:
You can link various dining cards to the app to get more money. For instance, a BOC Family card will get you 10% of your bill back, while a Citi Cash Back Card will help you save 8% of your bill.
Let’s do some simple math:
|Dining Option||Credit Card Rewards||ShopBack GO Cashback||Total Cashback Received|
(4 pax: Average $120 spent)
|BOC Family Card 10% Cashback: $16||3% Cashback – $3.60||$16 + $3.60 = $19.60|
|The Connoisseur Concerto|
(3 pax: Average $60 spent)
|OCBC 365 Credit Card 6% Cashback: $3.60||5% Cashback – $3||$3.60 + $3= $6.60|
|Tiong Bahru Bakery|
(2 pax: Average $30 spent)
|Citi Cashback Card 8% Cashback: $2.80||5% Cashback – $1.50||$2.80 + $1.50 = $4.30|
Here are two more ways to use the ShopBack Go app:
1. You can combine it with Entertainer
You can get a double discount if you combine these two apps.
If you have dinner with a friend, the Entertainer gives you the bonus of a free lower-priced main. That means a whole meal scratched off the bill. In the meantime, ShopBack gives you 5% of your money back.
2. You can combine it with Eatigo
If you don’t know this by now, Eatigo is a free app that boasts discounts up to 50% when you’re using it to make reservations at one of its 4000+ partner restaurants. That way, Eatigo can help you save a substantial amount of money.
Thank heavens and the cherry-pie elves living in the fourth stellar dimension, Eatigo has partnered with ShopBack as well. If you book and honor an Eatigo reservation with ShopBack, you will get $1.50 back. That might not sound like much, but it adds up to at least $6 each week – the price of a decent lunch.
Don’t forget the 5% discount that will decrease your bill and which helps you save more money!
ShopBack Go, Grabpay, Favepay, so many cashback application to choose from. How like that.
Before you get frazzled and compare yourself to death, let’s see how ShopBack compares to each of these:
FavePay gets your cashback immediately, whereas ShopBack has you waiting for 7 days. That’s one point for FavePay.
Another upside is that you can link your GrabPay account to FavePay, so you can shoot two birds with one stone. However, ShopBack GO allows you to link more cards.
ShopBack GO also doesn’t require you to have an active internet connection, or scan a QR code before making payment, unlike some FavePay merchants. This is a major plus point, in my opinion.
There was once i happily bought $10 worth of bubbletea from a certain bubbletea store, thinking that I could receive 20% cashback. Hello, 20% cashback, it’s like the lunar eclipse which only makes it appearance a few times a year. However, to my horror, I realised that there wasn’t an active internet connection for me to make payment.
Up till today, I’m still pretty salty over the $2 which I could have earned. But, that’s a story for another day.
Another thing about Favepay is, let’s say one restaurant offers 15% cash back if you’re using FavePay. Unlike ShopBack, you can only use this money with this restaurant. You can’t use the money to eat out at a different locale or to withdraw it to your account.
This money is only valid for a couple of months, whereas ShopBack keeps the money in your account indefinitely.

GrabPay is another easy to use the app. You can either link it to your debit or credit card or use your GrabPay wallet.
The activation process isn’t as easy as ShopBack, though. You’ll need to link a credit or debit card, but afterward, there are a couple of other settings to make, like the GrabPay balance, the auto top-up and setting your main payment method.
As opposed to ShopBack, you can use GrabPay for various purchases. These include storing bills, grab rides, GrabFood deliveries or fund transfers.
The disadvantage, when compared to ShopBack, is that you will need to scan a QR code before paying.
GrabPay allows you to win various reward points that you can redeem afterward. Just like with ShopBack, you get various rebates so the more you’re using it, the more you will earn.
While ShopBack gives you 5% of your F&B back, GrabRewards points allow you to save a maximum of 50% from various merchants.
Basically, you should go with GrabPay when:
Klook is a more comprehensive app than ShopBack, but it’s oriented on traveling. This app helps you book tickets to various sights and tours, but you can also use it to order food from different restaurants.
Though it helps helps you save money, it’s better for your holidays and weekend trips when you don’t want to be limited to just foods and beverages.
Klook is a reservations platform that claims it has the best prices or else you’ll get the difference back. Compared to ShopBack, Klook helps you get up to 60% of your money back.
The app is easy to use, you just have to look at its wide lists of destinations and then choose the best deals for the activities you want to do or the attractions you want to see.
The paying process is easy, but not as easy as with ShopBack. After making the online purchase, you have to show your e-ticket at the meeting point.
Klook also has the advantage of comprehensive user reviews, which help you choose the best activities and not pay your hard-earned money for something undeserving.
Use Klook when:
But the best news is that Klook is featured on ShopBack, so you can use these apps together. That way, you can make the best reservations for your trip, AND get more cash back!
If all this isn’t enough to convince you to start using Shopback GO, here are some limited time deals to get you onboard! As they all say, got good deals must share!
